this listing is for a textile art journal in my latest mini collection, Flora Ever After.

the covers on these journals were meticulously and entirely hand-stitched by me over the course of several weeks, as always using florals as my main source of inspiration. the texture on them is absolute perfection, and there is so much tiny detail here and there to pick up on.

in addition to being stitched by hand, these journals are also patternless. they come into being by following a sort of “improv” stitching technique, exploring the various available combinations of stitches, textiles and threads. when i start making journals like the ones in this collection, i only have a vague idea of how i would like them to look and i couldn’t be happier with the result of these beauties

the covers feature unique and truly one of a kind embroidery, plus a stunning embroidered spine featuring threads on a lovely vintage blue linen

these journals are all what i consider to be semi-hardback. they are sturdy and midweight with a gorgeous handfeel and plenty of room to grow

pages inside are primarily made from tea dyed papers, plus old accounting paper, old envelopes, patterned papers, etc. i have added the usual tuck spots and pockets, plus a happy little handful of ephemera like old photos and antique letterheads and such

the back cover is simply covered with patterned papers and has an addition small pocket with a old photo or postcard tucked away inside

this journal in particular measures approx. 5” by 7" with a 1.5” spine.

there are two signatures (groups of pages) inside and the cover is a glorious collage of several different textiles and laces, plus a smattering of random buttons, beads, sequins, and charms.

i think of this journal as my “everything but the kitchen sink” journal
